An Introduction

I have been talking to God and about Him since I was a young girl, so it only makes sense that my life brought me to this point of wanting to write as well. My faith in Christ touches every part of my life and I am so excited to embark on this journey to talk faith and real, everyday life.

However, I need you to understand my heart in this.

I am not writing out of a place of holier-than-thou perfection. I have not lived a perfect, trial-free life. I lost my mother to suicide when I was a young child, so most of my childhood memories are shadowed by tragedy and dysfunction. But struggle develops an understanding of our deep need for a Savior. 

I rejoice with those who rejoice, and I know oh so well how to mourn with those who mourn. I am not afraid to get down to the nitty-gritty struggles of real life and try to understand how our Christian faith intertwines in that.

So please know that I write from a place of deep love for my Christ and for others.

In Philippians chapter 3, Paul the apostle, this incredible follower and preacher for Christ, writes:

“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Even Paul knew he would not reach perfection this side of heaven, but he kept moving forward toward maturity in his faith.

And that is where you find me. God has taught me so much on my faith journey thus far, but He continues to teach me and grow me. So I will never claim perfection. I simply claim a striving towards a deeper knowledge and relationship with my God.
